Question 1

How accurate is this speed test?

Accepted Answer

Very accurate — it uses Cloudflare CDN edge servers near you. Each test runs 3 download and 3 upload passes and takes the median, so one slow spike cannot skew your result.

Question 2

What is a good internet speed?

Accepted Answer

For HD streaming and video calls, 25 Mbps download is enough. 4K streaming needs 50+ Mbps. Online gaming cares more about low ping (under 50 ms) than raw speed.

Question 3

Why is my WiFi speed lower than my plan?

Accepted Answer

Common causes: distance from the router, 2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz band, too many connected devices, or ISP throttling at peak hours. Test next to the router to isolate the issue.

Question 4

Does this store my data?

Accepted Answer

No. All measurements happen in your browser and test history stays in your own local storage. Nothing is sent to any server.

Question 5

What units are used?

Accepted Answer

Speed is shown in Mbps (megabits per second). Divide by 8 to get MB/s — so 100 Mbps ≈ 12.5 MB/s of file download speed.

Question 6

How do I check my Jio/Airtel/BSNL speed?

Accepted Answer

Just press Start Speed Test above — it works with any provider (Jio, Airtel, Vi, BSNL), WiFi, broadband, 4G or 5G. Free with no sign-up, works on mobile and desktop.

Question 7

How does this compare to Ookla, fast.com or speed.com?

Accepted Answer

Same thing measured the same way — download, upload and ping. Ookla, fast.com (Netflix) and speed.com all test your connection to a nearby server; this one uses Cloudflare edge servers with 3 passes and median scoring. No app or account needed, works right in your browser.

Question 8

Is this as accurate as Ookla Speedtest?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for real-world speed. Accuracy depends on server closeness and test method, not brand. This runs multiple passes and takes the median to filter spikes, same principle Ookla uses. For best results, stand near your router and close background downloads before testing.
